US-based McCormick Distilling is the maker of Tequila Rose, the best-selling strawberry cream liqueur in the world. The famous black bottle is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. On this special occasion, the label has been completely redesigned with shiny roses and a special feature: the logo will turn pink as soon as the bottle is chilled at the right temperature.
The trick to this magic logo is the use of a thermochromatic ink: it reacts when temperature increases or decreases. In this case, the logo will turn pink when it reaches the perfect temperature for serving. As Michelle Raworth, senior brand manager for Tequila Rose in the UK, says: "We’re already receiving a great level of interest since the re-design and with Valentine’s and Mother’s Day on the horizon there’s even more reason to purchase Tequila Rose."
Tequila Rose is a mix of strawberry cream liqueur and Mexican tequila. Imported and distributed in the UK by Halewood International, it can be served straight or in various cocktails. A 70cl bottle costs about £15.
Excessive drinking is dangerous for the health; alcoholic beverages should be consumed with moderation.
