Poundland has launch its online delivery service earlier this month after its main competitor, Poundworld, opened its shopping website in April, offering more than 4,000 products online. “The online shopping market is a rapidly growing channel and one which could provide a significant potential opportunity for us. This trial is an important first step towards giving more customers access to our amazing value” has declared Jim McCarthy, Poundland's Chief Executive. The service is accessible on computer, smartphone and tablet.
The discount retailer offers a selection of more than 2,000 products available to purchase online. The website is separated in several shopping categories (Food & Drink, Home & Pet, Health & Beauty...) selling the supermarket's own brands as well as names as Cadbury's, Pepsi or Pampers. The number of items available will of course increase if the test shows success. Poundland has more than 600 stores in the UK and Ireland, but deliveries are made only in the UK. There is no minimum amount for an order to be delivered but it's charged £4 anyway, unless your command exceeds £50. You should receive your order within 3 to 5 working days.
