Being 131 years old and not looking like it is an endless challenge: that's definitely something Marks & Spencer won't deny. This 70's suede skirt for example, was an unusual design (and price) for a brand that is more likely focused on comfort and conventional looks. Still, it made quite a statement and many celebrities have proudly worn it on public events. M&S is now exploring new horizons with its Limited London (for Limited Edition) collection which is going to be launched next month across the UK.
First interesting point: this collection is made with reused fabrics, following the retailer's ethical Plan A. The way the clothes are manufactured reduces the amount of water and energy used in the process. Cotton and polyester are among the recycled fabrics employed to create the collection. Second point, aka the icing on the cake: the design is inspired by "the vibrant London fashion scene" and is in total contrast with what we have come to expect from Mars & Spencer.
Audacious cuts, funky prints and vivid colours are the main features of this capsule collection. The 16 trendy pieces will be available online and in selected stores in June. It's a risky business but it's good to step out of the comfort zone sometimes.
