Leon first opened in 2004 in Carnaby Street, London, with the founders looking to make it easier for people to eat well. They appreciated a visit to a fast food restaurant was a treat to be looked forward to by many, but wanted to make it healthier. Naturally fast food is at its core, with offerings including chargrilled aioli chicken wraps, Moroccan meatballs, lentil masala and Leon’s chilli con carne. Children can select from their own menu while drinks on offer include juices, varieties of lemonade, kefir smoothies and a selection of teas and coffees.
The new outlet in Temple Bar is the first of 20 restaurants Leon are looking to open in Ireland by 2023. They have plans to open their second outlet later in 2019 in Dublin’s Dundrum Town centre. This commitment to Ireland should see 600 jobs created across the restaurants as Leon expand. With nearly 50 outlets across the UK, Leon are gradually expanding out of their London base, bringing their Mediterranean style food to more towns and cities. Temple Bar in Dublin will be the first in Ireland to give its visitors a chance to sample their healthy, affordable fast food.
