Bath (BA1)

The city of Bath is located in Somerset, which is part of South West England and roughly 21 kilometers south-east of Bristol. The city is known as "Bath" due to the Roman Empire building baths in the region around AD 60 and several temples around the River Avon. It has long proven to be a rather popular spa retreat due to the hot springs found inside of the city. Due to its historical significance, the city is now a World Heritage Site, for which it first received the designation back in 1987.

Bath remains dependent on the tourism industry, as the city is extremely popular with both local residents and international travelers, due to the hot springs, sporting events and other desirable features. In fact, a total of 3.8 million day visitors check out the city, which has only increased since its inclusion as a World Heritage Site. Manufacturing is also a major employer, although total production and jobs have dipped in recent years. Stothert and Pitt are based out of the city, as is Future Publishings, not to mention the London & Country mortgage brokers. The education and health industry make up another 30,000 jobs within the city. Over 400 shops are also spread throughout the city for residential convenience.
