Nobody seems to be prepared to speak on the phone, three times I have rung John Lewis Southampton, been given a number to ring, 0844 693 1751 that number gave me another one 0207 730 3434 and to press 7 for any other enquiry, it then asked for my delivery number and then I was greeted with a dial tone. I wonder if you want one to shop using a phone to make an order. Comments please

Went there late afternoon - and on least two occasions only one member of staff available(I might add doing her best and very pleasent) but the waiting time was annoying as I was on limited time. I was hoping to buy a sewing pattern and was told they no longer stocked them. So gone are the days you can buy your material and pattern an start to make it all on the same day. When I came to use the parking machine (card payment) my parking ticket wouldnt go in the machine after pressing for assistance I was told someone would be down shortly it did seem like some time before they arrived and when they did they appologies for the wait. I was told then to go to the barrier and give my name and I would be let out. I did this but no one answered so reversed and went back to the person who was still hanging about the machine. I explained the situation. They said that that there was only one person on and that they would answer calls in line. So I went back and waited and eventually ome one responded. I have to say I have not been into John Lewis for ome time and before it has always been a pleasent experience. But right now I actually think I may be better shopping on line. SO sorry John Lewis not sure whether you have made staff cut backs due to the economic crisis- but your shopping /parking experience was not acceptable

Your store and its products are very good but the lack of signage to pay is nil? I assume its intentional so one walks around trying to find the cash desk and then see and buy more goods but its very frustrating. No signs anywhere that i saw to direct me to pay. I heard other people saying the same thing, yes i could have asked an assistant but they were all busy.

Dear Sirs/Madam, When visiting your hospitality facilities we invariably order a cappuccino. None of your catering staff know how to make cappuccino. Your staff seem to think that a Cappuccino is a Latte with froth on top which is very misguided. This is in theory a breach of the trades description act, in as much as the customer does not receive the item they ordered for their money. My first complaint is the difficulty of making a complaint. We have recently moved house and spent a lot of money with them. The actual products are good, the service terrible. This covers three department, furniture, electrical appliances and carpets. Not only have we had appalling service, but trying to contact anyone in the department, or customer has been next to impossible. We have in consequence spent considerable time and money sorting things out. We understand much after purchase work is subcontracted, but this should be professional and access to john Lewis easy AND we should and could have been called back, this didn't happen. I would like a response to this email.

Can I highly commend Ben in the Electrical White Goods Department at Southampton Storefor excellent customer services. He has considerable knowledge of all products. He helped me decided on Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Tumble Drier and Fridge freezer and Miele Oven which I am about to purchase from John Lewis. A fabulous store in which to shop, very pleasant and helpful staff and a variety of experiences.
