EE (Everything Everywhere) is the name of a joint venture between two different mobile networks in the United Kingdom - Orange and T-Mobile. When the merger occurred in 2010, both of these existing networks had an extensive collection of retail outlets in the UK, and a large-scale rebranding exercise created the EE retail chain. From the perspective of the network,… read more about EE

Hello, On Tuesday, 17th of October 2017 I signed a contract with EE, in the branch of the Oxford Street with postcode W1D 2JH. I have coverage issues in-house and I reported this previously and yesterday when I went to the store in London to report once again this issues and to cancel my first contract and then the sales assistant make me do a new contract saying that with 4GEE and paying £21 per month for a new contract saying that I will get more coverage when this not true when I don't have network/data service in my house. This why I asked to cancel and not to make a new contract I feel I have been a victim of fraud. I have mental health illness and I am unployed for more that 1 year, I cannot aford to pay for an service that I don't use or that didn't ask. Today I have been trying to cancel this new contract by phone and at the Reading branch but they saying that I cannot cancel a contract by the store when legally I can indeed by UK European Consumer Centre (ECC). I don't want to pay for a service that I don't get. This evening I went to the retail store Broad Street in Reading and I requested to cancel the contract, taking as answer "No, we won't do any cancellation". The assistant manager (Harry) at the Reading branch that 'sold' me my first contract in October 2016, as also refused to do a cancellation and he was very rude when I showed him the information EE has on website (http://ee.co.uk/help/accounts-billing-and-topping-up/cancel-or-return/cancelling-a-contract-within-14-days), he said he cannot cancel a contract because this was an update, when is not true as I paid £0.89 for credit checks at the Oxford Street branch for this new contract. Speaking with an advisor in the branch, I referred to the EE's official site which says that within 14 days if I'm not satisfied with the coverage I can do a cancellation. Another advisor said yes this could be done and they told me to sit and wait. I waited for an hour, they kept me stand by, ignoring me, till the time passed and the store was about to close. They were avoiding to help me, even if I were requesting the contract cancellation again and again. It's the first time in my life that I feel my customer rights abused. This is unacceptable. In parallel, I called the EE CustomerService where they were telling us to speak with a manager in the branch but unfortunately, no one was there. I requested the name of the manager, and the EE Customer Service spoke to an advisor but he refused to give any name. I asked the Customer Service if this is acceptable and they told me not. They suggested calling tomorrow morning and asking for the manager. To be honest, I really dought this is going to happen, and even if I speak with him I feel that he will refuse the cancellation. I don't know if this branch is a franchise of EE or not, but they totally expose badly EE and they are not professionals at all. I know that losing a customer would be important to them, but a contract has two sides. If one side is disappointed you should not force it to stay. The contract is sim only, I didn't get any device. Since I don't get the service I expected I want to cancel it and this application is within the 14 days term. Please do something, EE as a big company is expected to treat customers and potential customers with respect to their rights.
