The origins of Sainsbury’s supermarkets goes all the way back to 1869, and the first branch of their grocery store was located on Drury Lane in London. John James Sainsbury had a vision of providing multiple outlets with the same kind of business model, and the Sainsbury’s brand has been re-designed on a number of occasions in order to remain… read more about Sainsbury's

Bought some raspberry doughnuts today and there was no respberry jam in them! Rang up and informed the store, the lady apologised and asked if we could take them back. In fact we had to use our own jam ! Still yummy! The lady did inform me that she had purchased some for a friend to take to Crete tomorrow and hoped hers had jam in them! Good luck with that as i can't believe we were the only bag with no jam!!

The cooked meat counter is very badly organised. On several occasions I have tried to purchase ham or beef at 7.30 am and was confronted with a complete lack of choice or what I call scrag ends which I would not feed to an animal, This morning was the last straw I was given the choice of ONE type of ham, this at 7.35 am. Surely as you open for business at 7.00 am all counters should be stocked ready for the customers to have a choice

sainsburys seem to be getting worse! Frequently I leave this store with only half of the things that I need . There are NEVER enough staff on the tills- a major annoyance of all customers, there always seems to be several staff members just standing around, but no-one seems interested in opening a till to alleviate the sometimes very long queues. Seriously looking at alternatives now.

Whilst using your cafe the other day I witnessed, in close proximity, a staff appraisal being conducted. I hope it wouldn't be common practice for these to take place in public earshot, especially as other staff members were referred to by name. I could've known one of them (I didn't) and found out all about their absenteeism record. Could I suggest a more private area found. Regards

Just to say that we eat at the café about twice a week and this time instead of the lively and welcoming ladies that serve you a gentleman was serving who was not only curt but needs some advice on customer service. I ordered a jacket potato and the ladies always say make sure you ask for the butter to be put in before the cheese - this I did only to be told we don't do that so I said can you check with the lady behind you - he then sternly repeated we don't do that and I am the manager. The queue behind me was also taken back but as I backed off the lady did go and tell the kitchen the instruction. He got the drinks wrong just before I placed my order and then out tea was just luke warm not hot so overall from a good rating today was poor. I suggest the manager stays managing and not serving the public. The ladies are what customers want - bright lively and chatty!!

What has happened to Sainsbury's Witney store? Lots of gaps on shelves, range and facings reduced in many cases and when staff are questioned they seem to be depressed by the situation and wondering, like me, what is going on.Is this because Argos is now on site? It must have had an impact on both retail and warehouse capacity .
