The origins of Sainsbury’s supermarkets goes all the way back to 1869, and the first branch of their grocery store was located on Drury Lane in London. So having applied for a job and being told I failed your recruitment test and then being told I am banned from applying for other jobs for 6 months is insulting.I assume that I am not banned from shopping in your store or am I. According to you I cant conduct myself in a proper manner in any given situation.

Fresh fruit and veg always has only one or two days shelf life on them which is very poor. Came in this afternoon only to find every pack of small tomatoes had dates only the 7 and 8 April on them. Same with blueberries, pre packed asparagus, packs of lettuce leaves, black grapes button mushrooms. Asked at customer services to speak to someone in the fruit and veg section, but the woman who came to speak to me said they can only put two days dates out at any one time. She also said seasonal fruit and veg only had a short shelf life, didn't know all the above was seasonal! So yet again I will be shopping at a competitors store where I was able to buy tonight all the above with 4-6 days shelf life. Come on Sainsburys, if you want to keep your customers then sort this out. Speaking to friends at work they have the same gripes your shelf life dates.

I've enjoyed shopping at the Livingston branch and will continue to make it my main supermarket. I usually go two or three times a week. There are many groceries which are cheaper than the adjacent Morrisons and the quality is usually good. There is one thing that stops me giving it 5 stars. As a gardener, I am distressed at the number of plants on display which I see slowly dying over the course of a week. Today there were a large number of evergreen clematis priced at £10 each which no-one will buy because they are clearly suffering from lack of water. The top of the compost was completely dry and plants were starting to wilt. I saw potted firs at Christmas and would have purchased one if they had not dried out. Dying plants at the entrance is not good marketing! It must make people wonder about the freshness of fruit and vegetables. If no one has the responsibility for the plants, it would be better to leave this provision to Morrisons who have a staff member based in that area in store, I have bought healthy plants from them over a period of years. I do think this is a good store but wasting resources is not good practice.

The butchers and fishmongers does not always have what I want. Yesterday I could not get get pork ribs on previous occasions there was no racks of lamb and sometimes no sea bass and I am now not surprised when this happens. The usual response is that I should ring the store and check that the things I want are in stock? I live in Bathgate and have a wide choice of stores,I will continue to shop from time to time in Sainsburys in Livingston but not for my daily/weekly shopping.
