It's the end of an era. I have shopped weekly, and loyally, at the Lindsayfield store, East Kilbride, since opening as Safeway, but enough is enough. Frustratingly aware of weekly purchases increasingly no longer being stocked - Taylors of Harrogate Espresso coffee (can't understand this as it was obviously a good seller with twice the shelf space as others) and Kerrygold Softer Butter (100% butter, no oil) to name but two, and there are several others, today, Saturday morning, was the final straw. With a care for animal welfare, I was disturbed to find one free-range chicken (which I bought, leaving none) and absolutely no outdoor bred pork sausages. This store is showing little regard for the living conditions of farm animals, and my conscience now tells me it's time to go elsewhere. Also, no tomato juice, a breakfast staple. I sense that the store is moving further downmarket, and whilst I am not expecting quails' eggs for sale, it's time to go elsewhere.

I have spoken numerous times to the staff at the Bakery regarding an issue I have with your small whole meal unsliced bread. This is the only bread I eat so it makes me aware when it shrinks, it is, today, the size of a thin sultana loaf and the unsliced white is I twice the size. A few months ago one of the bakery staff agreed with me and advised me he had thrown out the small tins. I know this is trivial, but I have changed to a Morrisons Toastie sliced loaf, but it is not good. I shop in the store every day but I thought I would put it in writing .
