If it takes over 2 hours to do your shopping you will be issued with a £100 parking fine from Parking eye. Beware. Even better give it a miss

I visited the Range in Blackburn on the 17/11/14 and was very upset to receive a parking charge notice in the post. I shopped for over 2 hours in your car park and did not notice any signs as I usually find a disabled space and use my badge which allows me to park for free at many out of town stores. I spent £81 for which I have a receipt and also had lunch in your cafe. As I am a widow and a pensioner with a fixed income I find this very uncharitable especially at this time of year Please can you wave this charge .

I am going to do some Christmas shopping at The Range in Blackburn next week, but was very worried about the parking being limited to 2 hours, and the reports of people receiving penalty notices from Parking Eye.I rang the store, and have been assured, that if we are in there for more than 2 hours, we should inform them at the till, give them our car registration number, and we'll then be able to stay as long as we need to,as they will then advise Parking Eye,not to issue a penalty notice,as we are shopping in the store.

Like Susan, I went to the Range at Blackburn with my elderly parents, had a good look round and had tea and cake in the café, where the service was terrible! was queued at the tills for ages and had no idea we were on a time limit because I didn't see any signs. As the store is miles from anywhere, it did not enter my head that the car park would belong to anyone else but the store! I visited on the 22/10/14 also, and have just received a fine through the post. Not happy!

BEWARE at The Range BLACKBURN, parking is limited to 2hrs, we had a coffee & a toasted teacake, a good look round, delays at the till because of no barcode and prices on items, got in the car to find one of our purchases had something missing, had to go back in store for a replacement only to get a parking ticket yesterday for £60/£100 for staying 24 minutes over 2 hours , surely The Range should be responsible for the excess time . CUSTOMERS BEWARE

I have been shopping at the range for years. Never stayed over 2 hours, (not that keen). However if for the folk who do stay over 2 hours then there is free unlimited time parking right outside the store on the main road. A minute if that walk from the store. If you do get a fine then make sure the signs were visible enough where you parked or very near by. The car park fine is not justifiable and should always be challenged. There are alot of websites with some very useful information about car parking fines.

With regard to the customers who said they were given parking ticket for being at the shop over 2 hours, there is a notice on display stating if you are going to be more than 2 hours let the staff know. I did when I took a friend and realised we were almost at the 2 hour limit. There was absolutely no problem and I was able to continue shopping with her .

You do not have to pay Parking fines sent by Parking eye , never would I ever pay them .

Comment by le 17/07/2016 (3)

My advice do not pay is DO NOT pay. The parking fined is unjust £60/£100. This is a large store and take along while to walk round and see everything and that doesn't allow for tea/coffee and a cake. The Range need to revise the policy.
